Fire: All guest rooms are equipped with smoke detectors and sprinkler systems. In the unlikely event that an emergency should arise during your stay, a general fire alarm system will be activated. Please familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest fire exit stairway. A map of this floor and the location of fire exits is attached to the inside of your guest room door. If you hear the fire alarm, please proceed immediately to the nearest fire exit stairway. Do not use elevators. Do not assume that it is a test of the alarm system.
Inclement Weather: The Kellogg Center is also equipped with a tornado warning siren that is activated if an actual tornado is observed, although it may be some distance away. During a tornado warning, please proceed to the nearest fire exit stairway where you will be directed to shelter (do not use elevators). Stay away from windows and outside doorways. You may also be instructed to use lower inside corridors or interior smaller rooms such as bathrooms as shelter. Our team is trained in these safety procedures and available to answer your questions. MSU tests its tornado siren on the first Saturday of each month at 1 p.m.
