Wireless Troubleshooting

  • One of the most common problems is “Web Proxy Enabled” in the user’s web browser.
    • Turn this setting off to disable it.
    • If you are unable to turn it off, please contact the Academic Technology Service (ATS) Help Desk at 517-432-6200 or search your computer’s help topics.
    • The consultants will do their best to help you determine if it is a computer or a network problem.
  • ATS staff have noted that difficulty connecting can be due to the homepage set up on an individual’s computer.
  • Make sure the homepage of the computer being used does not begin with https://. If it does, go to wireless.msu.edu.
